Douglas has been with the firm since January 2007. He has been working with a wide variety of clients, from small family-owned businesses to high net worth individuals, with their estate, tax, business, and personal planning for more than 35 years. Prior to starting his own CPA firm, he worked for Price Waterhouse & Co., and was the controller for the Lake Placid 1980 Olympic Winter Games. He also has the experience of operating thirteen businesses between his wife, three children, and his own entities within their family enterprises. Douglas is a consultant and principal in American Business Transitions, Inc., an organization dedicated to helping family business owners. He is also a partner in Adirondack Asset Management, LLC, a personal financial planning and investment management firm.

Nick has been with the firm since February 2009. Prior to this, he worked for seven years in private industry as a senior accountant and Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, he was responsible for all financial statement reporting, banking & public relations, staff supervision, and developing business strategies for expansion. Pam has been with the firm since January 2007. Pam began working in the accounting field upon her graduation from high school in 1973 when she was hired by Henry Gelles, a local attorney/public accountant, to learn the preparation of payroll, payroll tax reports, sales tax, and bookkeeping. She was promoted to accountant when Mr. Gelles sold his practice to Douglas L. Hoffman, CPA in 1981, at which time she began to learn the preparation of individual & business tax returns and financial statements. She remained on staff when Mr. Hoffman merged his practice with Dragon Benware CPAs, P.C. in 2007 and has been with the firm ever since. Her areas of expertise include tax, bookkeeping, and compilations & reviews of financial statements. In her community, Pam volunteers with the Saranac Lake Rotary Club. She resides in Saranac Lake, NY.

Andy is also licensed as a CPA in both NYS and the Philippines. He resides in Malone, NY.

Prior to joining with the firm in 2019, Stephen ran his own firm, Stephen W. Harstedt, Jr., CPA since 1994. Before this, he worked in private industry as a Chief Financial Officer and taught various accounting classes at SUNY Plattsburgh and Clinton Community College. Stephen has served on the boards as Treasurer for Clinton County Cooperative Extension and Wilmington Regional Visitors Bureau. Stephen has also served as a member of New York State Department of Taxation Task Force on Regulation of New York State Tax Preparers. In his spare time, Stephen is an avid skier, hiker, and off road bicyclist. He resides in Plattsburgh, NY.

Alexis Joined the firm in January 2017 as an intern, moving to part-time in May 2017 and then to full-time status in August 2019. She is currently working toward her CPA license.

Prior to this, she served first as a school librarian in Maryland and then as a public librarian for 20 years here in the North Country, translating her background and experience in administration, budgeting, grant and report writing and research to the accounting practice. Leona is a member of the Plattsburgh Rotary Club and has been for over 30 years. She resides in Plattsburgh, NY.

Penny attended North Franklin Educational Center from 1983 to 1985 where she focused on computers and secretarial studies.
